Fingerless Mittens

This is an old one that I'm going to rewrite when the weather gets a bit colder again, but I might as well plop this pattern here too. hehe

Fingerless Mittens
(Created on March 30th 2008. Copyright HobbyZu)
CUFF
Ch 15,
1.) Sc in 2nd chain from hook, sc in back loops to end, ch 1 and turn. (14 sc)
2-31.) Sc in back loops in each st to the end, ch 1 and turn.
32.) Sc in back loops in each st to end, do not turn. (14 sc)
JOINING ROW : This row is crocheted through both the current row's stitches, as well as the
stitches from row 1.
33.) Join with a sl st to the corresponding sc in row 1. Sc in same st, and through each stitch pair
across. (14 sc)
TURN CUFF TO THE RIGHT SIDE
34.) Evenly space 32 sc's around the cuff. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc. Fasten off and weave in
ends. (32 st)
MITTEN – Start crocheting in unworked end of cuff.
1-13.) Join yarn with a sl st to the 1st sc in the joining row. Sc in same st and evenly space 32 sc's
around. Continue working in the round up to row 13, using a stitch marker if needed to keep track.
At the end of row 13 work the thumb:
14.) Ch 6, sk next 6 st, sc in 7th st and continue working sc's in the round. When you reach the ch 6
again, sc in the chains and continue crocheting around.
15-29.) Continue working in sc in the round.
30.) Sl st around, join and fasten off.
THUMB
Join yarn to any st on thumb, sc in same st and each st around. (14 sc)
Continue working in the round for 5 rows.
Join with a sl st to the 1st sc; sl st around; and then fasten off and weave in ends.
Do I have to tell you to repeat this for the other hand? :-)
